This role ensures full compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) financial regulations, charter school reporting standards, and BakerRipley fiscal policies. The Financial Manager leads the preparation and execution of the school’s annual operating budget, manages financial reporting and billing processes, and collaborates closely with the Principal and BakerRipley’s central finance team to ensure fiscal integrity, transparency, and sustainability. Reporting to the BakerRipley Pathways Academy Principal, the Financial Manager oversees all aspects of the charter school’s financial operations, including budget planning, expenditure tracking, revenue management, and fiscal compliance. The role requires deep understanding of Texas charter school finance, including the Financial Accountability System Resource Guide (FASRG), the Foundation School Program (FSP), the Charter School Program (CSP) Start-Up Grant, and other TEA reporting and compliance requirements. The Financial Manager serves as a key liaison between the school, BakerRipley’s central Finance Department, and oversight agencies to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial practices. This position combines strategic financial planning with hands-on management to align resources with student achievement goals and operational priorities. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and management of the annual operating budget and multi-year financial projections Monitor revenues and expenditures, providing regular financial updates and forecasts to leadership Prepare and submit required financial reports, including TEA submissions and PEIMS fiscal data Manage ADA funding, Foundation School Program (FSP) allocations, and grant reimbursements Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure compliance with state, federal, and charter regulations Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure fiscal accountability Reconcile payroll and personnel-related expenses in collaboration with HR and Finance Serve as the primary fiscal liaison between the school and central finance teams Present financial updates to leadership and board members Train staff on budget procedures and expense documentation requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (required) Experience in public school or charter school finance preferred Strong knowledge of Texas Education Agency (TEA) financial reporting requirements Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment  QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 2 years in an educational or charter school setting. Experience with TEA fiscal compliance, PEIMS reporting, or grant-funded program management strongly preferred
