Job Description

Job Summary

The Financial Reporting Accountant assists with the preparation of SEC and standalone financial reports and disclosures, prepares quarterly and monthly consolidated financial schedules and analyses, period-end balance sheet account roll forwards, and standard and ad hoc management reports. This role also prepares supporting schedules for quarterly and annual disclosures for SEC report filings. This position supports the Financial Reporting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the corporate accounting department.


Job Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of SEC (Form 10-Q and 10-K) and standalone financial reports and disclosures in accordance with US GAAP and SEC rules

  • Conducts in-depth financial analyses, including income statement and balance sheet variance and trend analyses, in relation to internal and external reporting activities

  • Prepares analysis and rollforwards of consolidated balance sheet accounts

  • Prepares analysis of consolidated operating expenses and other profit and loss accounts

  • Assists in implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures

  • Assists with performing analyses related to acquisitions and significant transactions

  • Assists with implementation of new accounting pronouncements

  • Partners with Operations Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis personnel

  • Liaison with internal and external auditors on an as needed basis

  • Meets internal control and SOX compliance requirements in accordance with established policies

  • Creates reports from spreadsheets, Workday (GL system)

  • Performs other ad hoc duties as assigned by manager or finance and accounting leadership

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required


Experience

  • Typically requires 2+ years of public accounting and/or industry experience with exposure to financial statements review and preparation, financial accounting and analytics, consolidation and eliminations, and complicated accounting topics (such as share-based compensation, business combinations and impairment).
