About the Role:
The Installation Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment and maintenance of fiber optic and cable systems across various sites. This position involves interpreting technical blueprints and conducting site surveys to plan and execute precise installations of fiber optic cabling, coaxial cables, and fire alarm systems. The technician will be responsible for splicing fiber optics and installing cable TV infrastructure to meet client specifications and industry standards. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in fiber optic splicing and cable installation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and protocols related to cable installation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in fiber optic installation or splicing (e.g., FOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician).
- Experience with fire alarm system installation and testing.
- Familiarity with cable TV system setup and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of network configurations and signal testing equipment.
- Previous experience working in diverse geographic locations across the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements and identify potential challenges.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and installation manuals to plan cable layouts.
- Install, splice, and test fiber optic cables and coaxial cables according to industry standards.
