Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets installation instructions and repair orders
- Completes paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage and other materials
- Performs installation, repairs and maintenance on electric and hydraulic tarping systems. Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repair of electric and hydraulic tarping systems, simple electrical installation and repair, possible structural welding, repair and replacement of parts.
- Using supplied pick tickets and sales orders, picks and prepares parts and assemblies for shipping and/or installation.
- Using supplied Bill Of Materials lists, gathers specific parts from warehouse and assembles to make assemblies for shipping and/or installation.
- Can use & read a tape measure in 16ths of an inch.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Lead Installer or the Plant Manager.
- Ability to lift assemblies up to 100 lbs.
- Must have the Ability to work as a Team.
- Ability to work at heights of 12’-14’ while on scissor lift or ladder.
- Have the working knowledge to select proper tools and material(s) to perform the task safely and at the highest level of quality possible.
- Support tarp system installation through cutting, burning, drilling, bolting and welding various types of metals according to the product specifications.
- All material cuts must be de-burred and cleaned to the highest possible standards and all welds must display material melt flow and be 100% de-slagged and cleaned to an industry standard high-quality finish.
- As an individual and part of a team, strives to support continuous improvement across their personal tasks, the tasks of the department, as well as all facets of the business as a whole organization.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment at all times and must wear all prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing the assigned tasks and stop work immediately in the event of a non-conformance.
- Perform simple and routine maintenance to ensure that all equipment and tools remain safe and fully operational; in the event a piece of equipment is in an unsafe condition, the equipment should be immediately locked out and a supervisor notified.
Experience/ Qualifications
- Must “fluently” Speak, Read, and write English
- Equivalent of (1) high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Experience with Truck Equipment, Waste Equipment or related industry a plus
- Experience with Hydraulic Equipment installations and repairs a plus
- Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience not required yet helpful.
- Ability to read and interpret installation instructions and sales orders
- Willing to work overtime or perform contract work outside regular work hours if necessary
