Primary Job Function

In order to help Texas Bay Credit Union (TBCU) stand out as a leading financial institution the Lead Teller is responsible for assisting Management with supervision of the Teller line, closing procedures, and safety. The Lead Teller is also responsible for assisting members with account transactions and requests in an efficient manner, while providing an exceptional experience.Ā 

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesĀ 

• Provide prompt and courteous service to members by following established TBCU member service expectations.Ā 

• Process transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, cashing checks, loan payments, transfers, open-end loan draws, credit card cash advances, and credit card payments.Ā 

• Follow all TBCU policies and procedures including but not limited to proper identification of members, proper validation checking requirements and OFAC obligations.

• Manage cash drawer at all times to ensure sufficient change is available, daily limits are maintained, and balance daily transactions and verify cash totals. Investigate and resolve out-of-balance conditions.Ā 

• Maintain a working knowledge of all TBCU products, policies, procedures, and services.Ā 

• Educate members on CU products and services by identifying their personal and financial goals.

• Maintain proper storage for member documents in scanned folders.Ā 

• Resolve member issues or complaints by demonstrating complete knowledge of credit union processes and procedures while being empowered to make decisions that are in the best interest of the member and/or the credit union.

• Ensure Closing logs and ATM logs are maintained per CU policies and procedures.

• Maintain and project the Credit Union's professional reputation.Ā 

• Help Teller to locate out of balance situations and to correct errors as they occur. Inform Manager of any unresolved out of balance situations. Make copies of Teller checks and assist Branch Manager in contacting member in regarding Teller errors.Ā 

• Responsible for closing out machines at the end of the day and accounting for all inventory and merchandise.Ā 

• Act as the branch supervisor on Saturdays and secure the branch before leaving each day.Ā 

• Create and maintain a fun teamwork environment.

• Assist in training, developing, and motivating team.

• Participates in the Performance Reward Program.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Play an active part in helping credit union teams function smoothly and efficiently. Ā 

• Stay alert to potential problems and propose changes to policies and programs. Ā 

• Back-up other coworkers as needed. Ā 

• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

• As an employee of a ā€œEssential Businessā€ (as defined by Texas’s Executive Order GA 14), employees are expected to continue to report to work as scheduled during state issued emergency declarations.

• Comply with all federal, local, and state regulations.

Required KnowledgeĀ 

•  Ā Ā A high school education or GED

•  Ā Ā One year to three years of similar or related experience

•  Ā Ā Completion of required training courses

•  Ā Ā Proficient in MS Office and computer skills

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, kneel, talk, hear, and climb stairs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 10-15 pounds. This position requires viewing of computer monitor for extended lengths of time and travel to and from all credit union offices.Ā
