Position: Local Box Truck Driver – Air Freight

Location: Houston, TX

Reports to: Branch Manager, Houston

Employment Shift: Full Time non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act

Travel: Limited domestic travel required

Responsibilities, not limited to:

• Safely operate a box truck for scheduled and on-demand local deliveries and pickups, including loading/unloading customer freight, inspecting vehicle for mechanical or safety issues, and delivering freight according to dispatch and customer instructions.

• Handle freight carefully, verify paperwork, and maintain accurate delivery records to ensure deliveries are made timely and accurately and in manner that meets or exceeds customer requirements.

• Coordinate professionally with dispatchers, airline cargo facilities, freight agents, customers, and warehouse personnel.

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

• Follow all company, airport, TSA, DOT, and customer security procedures.

• Maintain reliable availability for a flexible schedule and on-call rotation.

Requirements, not limited to:

• Must be 23 years or older.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in or around air freight, airport cargo, freight forwarding or related logistics operations. This includes, but is not limited to, previous experience with airport cargo, airline freight terminals, and TSA-regulated cargo.

• Must hold valid driver license with a clean and acceptable driving record, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TSA clearance meeting all applicable airport and air cargo security requirements.

• Forklift certification or warehouse experience preferred but not required.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to seventy-five (75) pounds.

• Strong knowledge of local routes and ability to work efficiently in a time-sensitive environment.

• Dependable attendance and ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time effectively.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.
