Mechanical Engineer

This position performs engineering work in the initial planning and design phase of equipment, systems, or processes. Specifications are prepared, and necessary subcontracts and requisitions are defined. The incumbent should have basic knowledge of concepts, principles, and theories in a subject area or discipline. The candidate should have a general understanding of the position and should have working knowledge of industry practice and standards.


Responsibilities / Requirements

  • Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for Oil & Gas and Renewable projects
  • Develop mechanical design documents including data sheets, calculations, equipment lists, line lists, and specifications under supervision of a senior engineer
  • Prepare design data sheets and relevant calculations for the equipment including, but not limited to, pressure vessels, tanks, and pumps 
  • Prepare requisition packages to support procurement team with purchasing the equipment and materials 
  • Perform technical bid evaluation for the proposals received from vendors & suppliers 
  • Work closely with piping / structural designers to finalize the overall plant design & piping
  • Act as a team player by supporting other team members with their tasks to meet project deadlines 
  • Coordinates and resolves conflicts with other disciplines to deliver complete design package(s)

 

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) and working on obtaining PE registration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base, including multi-discipline systems
  • Demonstrates ability to plan and organize work of themselves and small disciple team to successfully meet project objectives and deadlines
