Job Summary: Whirlwind Steel Buildings is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Metal Building Drafter to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise shop drawings and construction documents for pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) systems. You will work closely with our design engineers and project managers to ensure every structure meets rigorous quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Drafting & Detailing: Generate comprehensive wall and roof framing plans, sections, and connection details for metal building systems. 

· Software Integration: Utilize MBS (Metal Building Software) and AutoCAD to develop high-quality 2D and 3D models. 

· Technical Accuracy: Review architectural drawings and structural requirements to ensure all drafting aligns with project specifications and local building codes.

· Collaboration: Coordinate with the fabrication shop to resolve any detailing issues and ensure a smooth transition from design to production.

· Quality Control: Maintain high standards for drawing clarity, accuracy, and completeness to minimize field errors.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Experience: 2-3 years of dedicated experience in metal building detailing (PEMB) is required.

· Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD and hands-on experience with MBS (Metal Building Software).

· Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of metal building components, including primary and secondary framing, cladding, and trim.

· Detail-Oriented: Exceptional spatial reasoning and the ability to catch minor discrepancies in complex sets of drawings.

· Communication: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineering and production teams.
