Job title Mic Inspector
Reports to QAQC Supervisor
Job Purpose
The Mic Inspector is responsible for performing dimensional verification per the material spec sheet and reporting any non-conformities back to the Mill Operator and QAQC Supervisor and/or QA/QC Lead. Additionally, he/she is responsible for flushing debris from tube in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift while maintaining exceptional housekeeping.
Duties & Responsibilities
路 Knows how to use micrometers, calipers, pi tapes and ovality gauges.
路 Make sure the tube is free of debris and perform visual inspection of tubes.
路 Maintain machinery specifications by observing machine operations, detecting machinery malfunctions.
路 Adequate amount of airflow and alignment for flushing.
路 Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during shift.
路 Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
路 The employee will be responsible for documenting product measurements on paper forms and/or through the ERP system.
路 Communicate with Operations crew to achieve a quality product.
路 Communicating with the Supervisor about any problems with material and equipment.
路 Safety is our number one priority. The employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
路 The employee must report to their immediate QAQC Supervisor and/or QAQC Lead for briefing on daily tasks.
路 Provide and assist with good maintenance on the equipment they are operating.
路 The employee must maintain good housekeeping ethics. The work area must be free and clear of debris.
路 Refer to Mic Station work instruction.
路 Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Competencies
路 Education:
o High School Diploma or GED required.
路 Years of Experience:
o 1 year experience preferred.
路 Job Knowledge:
o Reading and writing of English as well as solid arithmetic and Computer skills.
o Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools and handheld technical devices.
o Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and flushing operation is a plus.
o Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required.
路 Personal Competencies:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
路 The employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.
路 Safety:
o Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
路 Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
路 Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
路 The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
路 The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
路 The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
路 The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
路 The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
路 The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
路 Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
路 Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
Direct Reports / Authorities
路 This position has the authority to stop an operation if he deems it necessary, for reasons of imminent safety, quality of the material and/or possible equipment damage. However, he/she must notify QAQC Supervisor / QAQC Manager and follow the established notification procedure if the interruption is for an extended time period.
