Summary of Position     Â
The OT Graduate Assistant position is available to students selected for the CSS Academic Level II Fieldwork within the OT program. A Graduate Assistant participates in teaching, assessment, and mentoring within content areas across the OT curriculum. Any course in the OT program may use a Graduate Assistant and a Graduate Assistant may be assigned to support several courses within the OT program. It is the responsibility of the Graduate Assistant to adhere to the CSS Student Employment Handbook.
Reports to
Under the direction of the course faculty; Department Administrative Assistant manages the budget, does contract and time approval. Any change in hours must be approved by the respective course faculty to whom the Graduate Assistant is assigned, and posted in advance.Â
Required Qualifications
Must be a current OT student participating in the CSS Academic Level II fieldwork experience: Registered for either OTH 6722 or OTH 6822
Be in good academic standing
Must be U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals, or foreign nationals who have a visa permitting permanent residence in the U.S. (Temporary or student visas are ineligible.)
Preferred Qualifications
Background working with adult learners (tutoring, coaching, mentoring, Teaching Assistant)
Prior education related to education/ adult learning (prior degrees or certifications)
Job Functions
Assist with teaching, course development and planning, and program development within the occupational therapy program.
Assist with competencies, skills checks, or other assessment of knowledge (may provide direct assignment feedback)
Conduct self-directed learning lab experiences
Hold regular mentoring/tutoring hours for students
