Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC a world class supplier of power generation services, parts and repairs, has an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has a desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work.


The Parts Division is seeking an experienced steam turbine Seal Technician.

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation of steam turbine packing and seals.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Precision measurements of existing packing rings and seals in order to manufacture replacement parts.
  • Removal of existing seals from turbine steam path.
  • Installation of new packing rings, spills strips, associated springs, and hardware.
  • On site machining of replacement seals to achieve design clearances (trimming butt gaps, hook adjustments, teeth adjustments, etc.).
  • Creation of daily log report / final installation data.
  • Upkeep and maintenance of portable machine shops.
  • Train other personnel as needed.
  • Must be willing to work significant overtime during busy periods.

Requirements

  • Minimum (3) years experience in a manufacturing/machining role preferred.
  • Experience using a CNC/manual milling machine, and precision measurement tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, etc.
  • Must be eligible to work in Nuclear and Fossil power generation facilities.
  • Successful candidate will be available for significant amounts of travel during the Spring and Fall outage periods. Domestic and International travel required.
  • Valid driver’s license
