Position Summary

The Night Crew Supervisor is responsible for leading overnight stocking operations, ensuring efficient product flow from backroom to sales floor. This role supports Grocery leadership by maintaining in-stock conditions, executing merchandising standards, and delivering a store that is fully stocked, organized, and customer-ready for the next business day.

Key Responsibilities Department Operations & Execution
  • Supervise overnight stocking operations, including unloading, stocking, facing, and backstock organization
  • Ensure shelves are fully stocked and merchandised according to company standards
  • Execute planograms, resets, and promotional displays accurately
  • Maintain proper product rotation (FIFO) and minimize product damage
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and ready for opening
Leadership & Team Support
  • Supervise, train, and coach night stockers and crew members
  • Assign daily workload and ensure productivity and timelines are met
  • Monitor performance and provide real-time feedback to improve efficiency
  • Support scheduling and staffing needs based on delivery volume and workload
  • Promote a safe, team-oriented, and results-driven work environment
Inventory & Replenishment
  • Oversee receiving and breakdown of deliveries (when applicable)
  • Ensure accurate stocking and proper placement of products
  • Manage backroom organization to support efficient replenishment
  • Help control shrink through proper handling and storage practices
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all safety guidelines, including equipment use and lifting practices
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and operational procedures
  • Ensure a safe working environment during overnight hours
  • Monitor proper use of equipment such as pallet jacks, balers, and lifts
Store Readiness & Standards
  • Ensure aisles are fully stocked, faced, and free of hazards before store opening
  • Support execution of company merchandising and presentation standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, backroom, and work areas
Qualifications
  • Previous grocery, stocking, or retail operations experience preferred
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs or more
  • Repetitive stocking, bending, and lifting tasks
  • Ability to work overnight hours in a physically demanding environment

Pay Transparency:


Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).  Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. *For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
