Our lab is driven by a team of board-certified pathologists who are passionate about delivering cutting-edge diagnostic services. We provide the highest-quality pathology services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals across the region. Reports to: Office Manager and Technical Supervisor LOCATION: Cypress, TX Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm Job Duties and Responsibilities: Facilitate the collection, processing, handling, and shipping of blood specimens. Follow policies and procedures to correctly identify the patient. Properly label specimens and complete the requisition form via paper or online portal. Follow policies and procedures to properly pack and ship specimens. Demonstrate customer service & compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff. Communicate with, understand, and react effectively to a diverse patient population base. Follow universal precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens. Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines Inform Supervisor of daily tasks, unusual problems, or deviations from established procedures. Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis while working at the physician’s office. Pick-up, package, and ship specimens when needed. Qualifications High-school or equivalent required Minimum 1 year of Phlebotomy experience required Excellent phlebotomy skills Clean driving record and valid driver license required Reliable mode of transportation required Proficient in data entry required Excellent customer service skills required Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic/medical office/lab setting. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, write, file, sit for extended periods of time, reach, push, pull, drive personal vehicle and lift office supplies up to 20 pounds without assistance.
