Gateway on Cullen Student Living Apartments is hiring a Porter in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

Keep the property clean and free of trash and debris
Pick up trash around buildings, parking areas, and common spaces
Clean breezeways, stairwells, and other shared areas
Maintain dumpster and trash areas
Assist the maintenance team with light tasks when needed
Report any maintenance or safety concerns to management
Help keep the community neat and welcoming for residents

Requirements

Clean and remove debris from walkways, parking lots, and outdoor areas.
Empty trash cans regularly.
Maintain tools and equipment; ensure safe and proper use.
Assist with snow and ice removal (if applicable).
Support maintenance staff with light tasks as needed.
Inspect vacated units and create a punch list of needed repairs.
Paint walls, patch holes, and touch up surfaces.
Replace or repair appliances, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and hardware as needed.
Test and ensure all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are functioning.
Install blinds, doors, smoke detectors, and other fixtures.
Communicate with property management and maintenance staff about unit status and timelines.
Maintain inventory of supplies and request materials as needed.
Ensure units meet cleanliness and safety standards before move-in.
Turn Season Availability Requirement: Selected candidate will be required to work daily for approximately 20–30 consecutive days during the student housing Turn season, including weekends and extended hours as needed.
