We are seeking a results-driven Procurement Category Specialist to join our Corporate Procurement Team in Houston. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic sourcing initiatives-specifically within MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations)-across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in supply chain principles, exceptional contract negotiation skills, and a proven ability to lead complex projects from kickoff to completion while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
Location: Houston, TX (In-Office initially, potential for Hybrid after 60 Days)
Schedule: Day Shift | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Range: $31.25 – $40.87 / hour
Dress Code: Business Casual
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for assigned categories (MRO emphasis) to drive value and optimize supply chain performance.

RFP/RFQ Execution: Prepare, manage, and execute RFQs and RFPs to evaluate and select the best supplier partners.

Contract Management & Negotiation: Lead supplier negotiations regarding pricing, discount structures, master service agreements, and commercial terms.

Market & Spend Analysis: Conduct market research, analyze company spending patterns, and identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with site personnel, leadership, and external manufacturers/distributors to align procurement strategies with business needs.

Performance Tracking: Track, evaluate, and report on key procurement metrics and supplier performance.
Qualifications & Required Skills
Required:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in a procurement or supply chain role (Oil & Gas industry experience preferred).

Category Expertise: Direct experience in strategic sourcing for MRO.

Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle (Cloud or EBS), JD Edwards, or Glovia.

Core Competencies: Strong contract negotiation skills, data-driven analytical abilities, self-motivation, and the capacity to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
