Job Duties

  • Under broad direction, provides technical and people leadership while maintaining the ability to advance development expertise by designing, coding, testing, trouble-shooting, or documenting engineering systems applications.
  • Responsible for the costing of technical solutions and staffing a project team to execute the technical solutions.
  • Frequently collaborates with stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-schedule, on-scope delivery while filling technological and functional requirements needed by the organization or the project.
  • Provides training and expert technical guidance to technical staff.
  • Manages multiple development teams and outside consultants in coordinating project design and milestone reviews to ensure delivery.
  • Implements tactical action plans according to department goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring technical solutions and associated procedures meet accepted governance standards.
  • Incorporates reliability analysis and promotes optimum use of development tools and standards during the design process.
  • Assists in determining opportunities for re-use of technical components and reduced duplication.
  • Possesses in-depth understanding of the supported PSL's technology and associated development tools.
  • Performs development tasks to maintain development expertise.
  • May be responsible for impacting a revenue center's viability or quality of service. 

Qualifications

  • Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geoscience, or similar discipline, and a minimum of 8 years of related experience, which includes software development.
