Your Opportunity

Join a Top 10 global integrated design firm in our Houston Buildings practice that provides Architecture, Buildings Engineering, and Interior Design services with a long history and deep commitment to the Civic sector. Our Houston office is seeking an Architect to join our Buildings practice. The successful candidate will have experience with local municipalities, county, and public entity projects. 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee a large team of architects and engineers, both internally as well as external consultants;
  • Work closely with Project Managers to forecast and develop project schedules and coordinate delivery deadline sequences.
  • Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
  • Contribute to and manage multiple cloud-based organizational platforms;
  • Develops documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections and details.
  • Manages and leads project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, contractor, and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure that project documentation adheres to applicable codes, criteria and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Participates in bidding and negotiation phase and prepare addenda.
  • Participates in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating
  • Coordinates the preparation of the project specifications. Coordination of specs with construction documents.
  • Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports and other contract administration tasks.
  • Visit project sites and with clients as necessary
  • Participates in constructability review.
  • Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle, and prioritize multiple projects and adjust accordingly, often against tight deadlines.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
