About the position: 

We are seeking a Propulsion Technician to join our team. This position will work closely with the engineering team on the build, integration, test, and operation of flight and ground support propulsion hardware. This includes fluid systems, valves, regulators, actuators, and other precision components that are critical to spacecraft propulsion. The role is hands-on and ideal for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude from aerospace, energy, or other fluid-mechanical industries.


Responsibilities  

  • Support the assembly, integration, and test of propulsion hardware, including tanks, engines, valves, regulators, pumps, tubing, fittings, and instrumentation.
  • Work alongside engineers to build, install, and maintain propulsion system components and subsystems.
  • Assist in operation of test equipment, including setup, checkout, and safe execution of test procedures.
  • Perform system-level leak checks as well as pressure and functional tests of components and integrated systems.
  • Operate and maintain fluid ground support equipment, including cryogenic and high-pressure gas systems.
  • Provide support during qualification and acceptance testing of propulsion components and systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of build steps, test data, and system configurations.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and cleanliness protocols to ensure flight hardware quality.
  • Actively contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement in build and test operations.

Requirements:  

  • High school diploma or technical trade certification (mechanical, aerospace, or industrial disciplines).
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical or fluid systems (aerospace, oil & gas, energy, automotive, or related fields).
  • Proficiency with hand tools, torquing practices, and fitting assembly.
  • Familiarity with technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred / Differentiating Experience:

  • Experience with cryogenic fluids, high-pressure gas systems, or hazardous fluids.
  • Knowledge of valves, regulators, pumps, and mechanical actuators.
  • Exposure to aerospace build/test environments.
  • Comfort with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation.
