Reports to: Senior Manager of Procurement

Collaborates with: Production, Accounting, Shipping, Engineering, Sales

Primary Responsibility: As our Purchasing Agent, you'll be the backbone of our supply chain, making sure everything runs smoothly from purchase orders to inventory management. If you've got a knack for procurement and know your way around ERP systems, this could be the gig for you. Get ready to play a key role in our production efficiency and customer satisfaction!

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct audits of materials from suppliers when necessary and monitor supplier performance.
  • Maintain supplier contracts and files.
  • Review and approve invoicing from various suppliers and vendors.
  • Purchase raw materials, supplies, and services, negotiating with vendors as needed.
  • Maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and company calendar.
  • Schedule and oversee cycle counts, reviewing and reporting results.
  • Manage inventory records and materials costing, making necessary adjustments or corrections.
  • Communicate with management regarding order fulfillment and vendor invoices.
  • Write purchase orders specifically for Winnipeg, MB operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

How to Qualify:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in purchasing and procurement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in math and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Working knowledge of Syspro ERP software desired; background in MRP system preferred.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Travel Requirements: This position will oversee operations at our Winnipeg, MB plant and will require travel at least twice a year to meet with key suppliers and review pricing.
