As a Rotor Mechanic, you are performing manual machining operations on compressor and turbine rotors and components. You are working with engineering drawings and specifications, operating machine tools, and supporting rotor handling, blading, and grinding activities. You are utilizing strong technical skills and attention to detail while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures. Your contributions are helping deliver high-quality rotor repairs and exceptional service to our customers.

As a Rotor Mechanic, You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and technical manuals.

  • Applying knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances while utilizing algebra and geometry concepts during machining operations.

  • Starting and monitoring machine operations to identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and making necessary adjustments.

  • Selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on mills, lathes, jig borers, and grinders.

  • Unstacking and stacking compressor rotors in accordance with operational procedures.

  • Performing blading and tip grinding activities on compressor wheels.

  • Maintaining adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards throughout all shop activities.

To Be Successful in This Role You Will:

  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Have experience with rotor manual machining, particularly on gas turbine rotor machinery.

  • Have demonstrated intermediate-level skills in Milling, Runouts, Turning, and Grinding on Manual Lathes and VTLs.

  • Have experience supporting Rotor Shop and Machine Shop operations involving steam rotors, gas rotors, cases, gas components, aero components, and valve rack repairs.

  • Have the ability to operate a manual lathe for rotor machining activities.

  • Have experience performing gas turbine rotor and component repairs on HSPT, GE10, Frame 3, Frame 5, Frame 6, and Frame 7 equipment.

  • Have a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
