Description

VETERANS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY

Lonestar Electric Supply and its subsidiaries are seeking a hands-on, highly mobile Safety Coordinator to oversee, implement, and maintain daily workplace health and safety programs across multiple regional branches. This position requires approximately 50% travel to conduct multi-site audits, deliver on-site training, and align facility safety initiatives. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our 'Safety First' culture across our electrical supply distribution centers, specializing in mitigating specific material handling hazards, high-volume shipping/receiving risks, and unique electrical safety hazards associated with storing bulk power distribution equipment. The ideal candidate will be organized, communicative, and aligned with our passion to MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Responsibilities

Multi-Site & Travel Management:

  • Execute a regular facility visit schedule across assigned states (TX, LA, KS, IN, IA), traveling approximately 50% of the time to conduct standard audits and support local branch managers.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance alignment with Federal OSHA (29 CFR 1910) in Texas, Louisiana, and Kansas.

Daily Inspections & Hazard Mitigation:

  • Conduct routine walkthroughs of distribution centers to identify risks like improper racking weight loads, obstructed electrical panels, and unsafe bulk wire or cable storage.
  • Ensure proper clear zones are maintained in front of facility electrical panels and verify high-voltage inventory storage zones are properly cordoned off and labeled.
  • Manage a proactive forklift and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety program, ensuring all equipment undergoes required pre-shift inspections.

Training & Employee Engagement:

  • Lead regular pre-shift safety huddles and custom 'toolbox talks' tailored to warehouse distribution hazards during site visits.
  • Conduct specialized awareness training on basic electrical safety, arc flash awareness, and proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols for maintenance areas.
  • Incident Response & Documentation:
  • Head up comprehensive root cause analyses (RCA) for all near-misses, injuries, property damage, or fleet vehicle incidents across your designated territory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years+ of safety coordination experience in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or electrical infrastructure distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to remote facilities across a multi-state region.
  • OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry certificate is highly preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of OSHA 1910 (General Industry) standards and familiarity navigating both Federal guidelines and individual OSHA State Plans.
  • Exceptional verbal ability to comfortably coach and collaborate with remote warehouse employees and leadership teams.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in both office and warehouse environments.
  • Capability to safely lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, and observation of warehouse and yard operations up to 8 hours per day.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, life and vision insurance
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan and Match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Specified Holiday Pay
