As a Senior Architect, you will partner closely with Project Managers and Design Leaders to shape project vision, guide technical and design teams, and ensure design excellence from planning through construction and close-out. You will play a key role in client relationships, consultant coordination, and internal mentorship while supporting multiple healthcare projects concurrently, including acute and sub-acute care facilities.

This position balances design leadership, technical oversight, and strategic collaboration, serving as a trusted resource for clients and a leader within the studio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural delivery of medium to large, complex healthcare projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, regulatory requirements, budget, and schedule.
  • Provide design and technical leadership across all phases of work—from validation and pre-design through construction administration and close-out.
  • Champion design excellence, critical thinking, and innovation while maintaining rigorous healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Design Leaders to guide teams of architects and designers, establishing clear expectations and accountability.
  • Direct and review BIM-based design and documentation to ensure accuracy, coordination, and consistency with design intent.
  • Lead or participate in design critiques, technical reviews, and constructability assessments.
  • Coordinate architectural design with consultants, contractors, and owners to resolve complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Evaluate and guide selection of building systems and materials appropriate for healthcare environments.
  • Ensure accessibility, life-safety, and applicable building codes are integrated into design solutions.
  • Maintain continuity of design intent through documentation and construction.
  • Support sustainable design strategies appropriate for healthcare facilities.
  • Participate in programming, site analysis, and early planning efforts as needed.
  • Serve as a mentor and technical resource to architects and designers within the healthcare studio.
