Responsibilities

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Initiate inventory and material processing requisitions to support Supply Chain & Sales initiatives
  • Evaluate offers and negotiate pricing and delivery with suppliers/vendors
  • Generate and manage purchase orders in ERP system
  • Review all order acknowledgements to ensure 100% accuracy of order details
  • Track and coordinate incoming shipments from suppliers/vendors
  • Verify and approve invoices to ensure accuracy and on-time payment to suppliers
  • Maintain and update team logs for all open PO’s, RFQ’s, supplier NCR’s, incoming vessels, etc.
  • Understand current mill replacement costs and lead times for all assigned suppliers, at all times
  • Be familiar with the steel making process and Tube Supply/Industry specifications
  • Maintain and strengthen current relationships with all key suppliers
  • Collaborate daily with sales, operations and finance teams
  • Develop/propose continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our Supply Chain processes
  • Own the entire purchasing process start to finish for assigned commodities
  • Review inventory with upper management as assigned to identify items for replenishment  
  • Any other responsibilities as required by management

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain or Business related preferred)
  • 7+ years of Supply Chain or Procurement experience preferred, ideally in steel, metals or other industrial distribution sector
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Moderate to high proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
