Job DetailsJob Location: 401 - Alief Neighborhood - Houston, TX 77072Position Type: Full-TimeEducation Level: High School/ GEDTravel Percentage: No Local Travel (0%)Job Category: Community & Social ResourcesPOSITION OVERVIEW As a member of the Stability and Connections Senior Health and Wellness program area, you will join an incredibly talented and hardworking team dedicated to providing older adults and other targeted populations throughout Harris County with opportunities to maintain and/or improve their personal health and wellness. Reporting to the Operations Manager of Senior Health and Wellness, the Senior Center Specialist oversees the day-to-day operations of a Senior Health & Wellness center. This position ensures that the program is operated to a high standard and complies with the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) contract and any other funding sources. This position is responsible for ensuring that programs have the resources and ongoing support needed to provide efficient, impactful services to our neighbors, in alignment with funder and agency requirements. This position requires handling multiple assignments in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Seek community collaborators to provide health education, nutrition education, exercise, and other resources that promote a healthier lifestyle and attract older adults to senior center programs. Create new programs and ideas that are relevant and appealing to older adults in alignment with the 8 Domains of Wellness. Develop, create, and maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment that promotes comfort and socialization among older adults, including but not limited to food temperature safety, serving meals, clean up, etc. Communicate with supervisor and other offsite program staff by email and phone in a timely manner with regard to compliance documents, supply needs, incidents, daily meal orders, etc. Work with community and internal agency partners in a manner that promotes a positive image of the agency and the Senior Health and Wellness programs. Provide site coverage at other locations, if necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience YEARS OF EXPERIENCE 2- 4 years of working experience preferred CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Texas Driver’s License; Food Manager’s Certification within 3 months of hire
