JOB SUMMARY
Oversee and manage all tax-related matters across a diverse family of companies, including both privately held and publicly traded entities. Responsible for ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, while also providing strategic guidance on income tax planning, risk management, and optimization opportunities across multiple business structures. Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting is strongly preferred along with CPA Certification. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in corporate tax, public accounting or a similar role with exposure to multi-entity structures is also strongly preferred.Â
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Manage and oversee all aspects of federal, state, and local tax compliance for multiple entities, including corporations, partnerships, and individual stakeholders where applicable
• Prepare, review, and file tax returns, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory requirements
• Develop and implement tax strategies that minimize liabilities while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and reporting standards
• Advise leadership on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, acquisitions, and restructuring activities
• Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation and assess their impact across the organization
• Coordinate and manage audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities and ensuring proper documentation is maintained
• Handle complex income tax matters, including multi-state taxation, apportionment, and cross-entity financial structures
• Collaborate with internal finance, legal, and accounting teams to ensure alignment on reporting and compliance
• Support financial reporting requirements related to tax provisions, deferred taxes, and disclosures for public entities
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in tax reporting and compliance
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred)
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or a similar role with exposure to multi-entity structures
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, including experience with both private and public companies
• Proven experience handling complex income tax issues and multi-state filings
• Familiarity with tax provisions and reporting requirements
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong computer skills; proficiency in tax software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, or international tax considerations
• Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across different entities in a fast-paced environment
ABILITIES REQUIRED
• Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
• Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc
• Could involve some lifting up to 20 pounds
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time without much movement
• Ability to work in time-sensitive environment with non-flexible deadlines
