An engineering firm specializing in natural gas processing, safely delivering natural gas products and transportation infrastructure, as well as petroleum and electricity generation assets is opening a Senior Electrical Engineer role in Houston (TX) or Tulsa (OK).
The company operates interstate natural gas pipelines and gathering & processing operations throughout the USA.

Company Size : 6000

Education : 
Required: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (delivered from an ABET-accredited university only) and eight (8) years engineering experience in natural gas, data centers or related industry.
Ideally PE License or Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
For degrees earned outside the U.S., the degree/University must be ABET-accredited to be acceptable


Experience : 
Power Generation and Controls experience
8+ years engineering experience in natural gas, data centers, or related industry

Key Competencies :  
Proficiency in reviewing arc flash studies and implementing improvements
Working knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, etc.)
Experience with PLCs
Project Management experience
Experience in Pre-FEED, FEED, or EPC of small to medium facility projects
Proficiency in designing and implementing Instrumentation systems, including PLCs and HMI systems

Required tools/systems/platforms/protocols/processes mastery : 
Familiarity with leading hardware and software platforms (Allen Bradley, Rockwell, Honeywell, Delta V), industrial communication protocols (HART, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet IP), and control systems (Factory Talk, Ladder Logic, SCADA).
Knowledge of OSI Historian, AVEVA, alarm management, SAP maintenance, and embedded systems for operational efficiency and data management.

As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll lead the design and optimization of electrical systems that power essential infrastructure—pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities. You’ll apply your technical expertise to integrate advanced technologies like automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage, driving efficiency and innovation across operations. A key part of your role is ensuring safety through the implementation of arc flash mitigation, fault detection systems, and rigorous compliance with regulatory and environmental standards. You’ll also manage complex projects from concept to completion, aligning engineering solutions with business goals and timelines.

This is a high-impact role where your leadership and problem-solving skills will directly contribute to operational reliability, safety, and strategic growth.


MISSIONS

- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting critical infrastructure such as pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities
- Champion the integration of advanced technologies including automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs
- Implement robust safety measures such as arc flash mitigation and fault detection systems to protect personnel and ensure infrastructure reliability
- Provide technical expertise in power distribution, electrical schematics, and system layouts for both new construction and upgrades to existing facilities
- Manage complex engineering projects from concept to completion ensuring alignment with business goals timelines and budget constraints
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental and regulatory standards across electrical systems and project execution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet internal and external customer needs
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers fostering technical growth knowledge sharing and a culture of continuous improvement


Requirements


- Demonstrate excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a   main priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
- Power Generation and Controls experience
- Proficiency in reviewing arc flash studies and implementing improvements
- Working knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, etc.)
- Preferred: Experience with PLCs
- Preferred: Project Management experience?
- Preferred: Experience working in Preliminary-Front End Engineering and Design (Pre-FEED), Front End Engineering Design (FEED), or Engineering, - - Procurement, Construction (EPC) of small to medium facility projects
- Preferred: Proficiency in designing, and implementing, Instrumentation systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems
