We are hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer to join the team building and supporting the mobile products behind our professional haircare brands. You will work across several distinct codebases: the LG CHI Color Master applications, which are built natively for iOS and Android as separate projects, along with other company mobile applications built in React Native β plus whatever new mobile products we take on as our digital platform grows. That mix is deliberate, and it shapes who we're looking for. We need an engineer who is genuinely comfortable in native Swift and native Kotlin, and equally comfortable in a React Native and TypeScript codebase β someone who can move between them without treating any one of them as their only tool.
You'll be joining an existing mobile team, so this isn't a solo role β architecture, releases, and support are shared responsibilities. What we do need is someone autonomous: a self-starter who can take an ambiguous requirement, ask the right questions, and drive it forward without waiting to be managed through it. Our apps connect to backend services, internal portals, and enterprise business systems, so we're looking for someone who reasons about the whole picture rather than just the screen in front of them β and who has genuinely integrated AI tooling into how they build software.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build and ship features in native iOS (Swift) and native Android (Kotlin) applications maintained as separate codebases.
- Build and ship features in React Native / TypeScript applications, including native module work where needed.
- Take features from requirements through to release, working alongside other developers on the team.
- Contribute to shared release and QA processes across our apps β build configuration, signing, App Store and Google Play submissions, and post-release monitoring.
- Understand and work across the systems our apps depend on, including APIs, backend services, internal web portals, and enterprise business systems, and partner with the engineers who own them.
- Debug production issues across the full path β app, network, API, and downstream system β rather than stopping at the mobile boundary.
- Use AI development tools effectively and thoughtfully to accelerate implementation, code review, testing, and documentation, while maintaining code quality and security standards.
- Contribute to architecture and technical direction for both existing and new mobile products as part of team discussions.
- Review teammates' code, share what you know, and help keep practices consistent across a multi-codebase environment.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to turn operational requirements into sound technical solutions.
Education & Experience:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years shipping mobile applications to production.
- Real, current native experience on both platforms β Swift (and/or Objective-C) for iOS, Kotlin (and/or Java) for Android β including platform SDKs, lifecycle, UI frameworks, and store tooling for each.
- Solid React Native and TypeScript experience in a production application, including an understanding of how the JS layer and native layer interact.
- Strong working knowledge of software development as a whole β not mobile in isolation. You should be comfortable with API design, databases, authentication and authorization, version control, CI/CD, and general system architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and work with the external systems an app integrates with, and to hold your own in technical conversations with backend, integration, and platform engineers.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong practical understanding of using AI for software development. You should be able to speak specifically about the tools you use, where they help, where they donβt, and how you validate what they produce.
- A self-starter mindset. You identify what needs doing, unblock yourself, communicate proactively when you canβt, and donβt need day-to-day direction to make progress.
- Experience contributing to App Store and Google Play releases, including certificates, provisioning, signing keys, and store review.
- Comfort context-switching between codebases with different languages, conventions, and build systems.
- A collaborative approach to code review, technical debate, and shared ownership of a codebase.
- Strong debugging skills and sound judgment about when to fix, when to refactor, and when to escalate.
Nice to Have:Β
- Experience with Expo / EAS Build
- Automated testing across native and cross-platform stacks (XCTest, Espresso, Jest, Detox, Maestro).
- Push notifications, deep linking, analytics, and crash reporting tooling.
- Exposure to enterprise systems such as ERP platforms, e-commerce platforms, or internal data services.
- Experience standing up a new mobile application from scratch.
- Experience mentoring engineers.
What Success Looks Like:Β
First 30 days β You have working environments across our codebases, understand how each app is structured, and have shipped a meaningful fix or feature to a test build.
First 90 days β You're delivering features independently in more than one codebase, pulling work forward without needing to be assigned every step, and you can explain how our mobile apps fit into the wider system landscape.
First year β You're a trusted senior voice on the mobile team, contributing to architecture decisions on both existing and new applications, and the team ships more reliably with you on it.
Why This Role:
- Products used every day by professionals in a globally recognized brand's ecosystem.
- Genuine technical breadth β native and cross-platform work, not a single framework.
- A small, senior team with no layers between you and the decisions.
- Real autonomy over how you work, with teammates to think alongside.
- An organization actively investing in modern AI-assisted development practices.
