Kindred Hospital Houston Northwest's Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is a 12 bed specialized inpatient rehab unit designed to help patients recover from serious medical conditions and injuries.

How you’ll contribute:
Evaluates and treats patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
Essential Functions
Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

 

Qualifications and requirements:
Education: Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology Required
Licenses: Licensed Speech Therapist
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
