The position encompasses both research and engineering responsibilities, including hands-on work with bench-, pilot-, and demonstration-scale systems.  This role will work closely with laboratory scientists, process engineers, and business stakeholders to adapt, optimize, and deploy solvent-based carbon capture technologies that address practical challenges in emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and operability within industrial environments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation in liquid absorption carbon capture processes, combined with demonstrated experience in managing multidisciplinary research programs and advancing innovations from concepts through pilot validation and deployment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Formulate objectives, technical scope and requirements for demonstrating CO2 capture systems
  • Organize project tasks and milestones, including evaluation of important schedules, deliverables, and resources.
  • Estimate the development schedule, resources, and costs.
  • Conduct periodic gate review meetings which involve aligning with proponents and Aramco/affiliates engineering.

  • Provide and manage a safe, accident-free laboratory environment.  Follow all company safety rules in performing job duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD Degree in Engineering/Science Discipline as appropriate for the area of expertise for the assigned jobs.
  • Nine (9) years’ experience in a substantive industrial, technological or laboratory area relevant to the jobs’ assignment.
  • Prefer candidates with experience/exposure to CCUS, liquid solvent design/formulation, direct air capture (DAC) using liquid approaches.
  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined.
  • Candidate should be comfortable in working independently or part of a project team, frequent project presentation and travel to meetings at conferences and universities.  Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette.
