About the Role:
HealthWealth Pharmacy in Houston, TX is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to join our 503A compounding pharmacy team. Responsibilities:
- Compound, verify, and dispense 503A patient-specific compounded medications in compliance with USP standards and state regulations
- Review and validate prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with prescribers and healthcare providers to optimize individualized patient therapy
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff in daily compounding operations
- Maintain accurate patient profiles, compounding logs, and documentation in the pharmacy management system
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols, beyond-use dating (BUD), and sterile/non-sterile compounding guidelines
- Counsel patients on proper medication use, storage, and potential side effects
Requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution
- Active and unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License (RPh)
- Multi- state licensure is a plus
- IV compounding experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations as it pertains to 21 CFR 210, 21 CFR 211, and USP standards.
- Experience in 503A/B compounding pharmacy, including sterile and/or non-sterile compounding
- Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines
- Familiarity with PCAB accreditation standards is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and patient counseling skills
