Our team is composed of highly skilled professionals, and we are currently seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Surgical Physician Assistant to support both our operating room and clinic teams. The ideal candidate will have experience working in both settings, particularly in orthopedic spine procedures. This role will involve working directly with the orthopedic spine surgeons to assist in surgical procedures, post-operative care, and patient management in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In the      Operating Room:
    • Assist the orthopedic spine surgeon during procedures, including pre-operative preparation and post-operative care.
    • Perform first  assist duties during surgeries, including tissue handling, suturing, and instrumentation.
    • Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are prepared, sterile, and functioning properly.
    • Provide intraoperative care as needed, including monitoring vital signs and patient condition.
  • In the Clinic:
    • Conduct patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing physical exams.
    • Assist with diagnostic procedures and imaging reviews (X-rays, MRIs, etc.).
    • Provide patient education on treatment plans, surgical options, and post-operative care.
    • Perform post-operative evaluations and manage follow-up appointments.
    • Work closely with physicians to coordinate care, including developing and implementing care plans.
  • Other Duties:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
    • Collaborate with medical and administrative staff to optimize patient care and clinic efficiency.
    • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with orthopedic and spine care practices.


Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • Education &      Experience:
    • Completed Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
    • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas
    • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
    • Preferred: Previous experience in orthopedic spine surgery, with both clinic and operating room experience.
    • BLS and ACLS certification required (or willingness to obtain).
  • Skills &      Abilities:
    • Strong clinical and surgical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to educate and comfort patients.
    • Knowledge of orthopedic spine conditions, treatments, and surgical techniques.
    • Proficient in using EMR software.
    • Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
