What We Are Looking For

 

Kinder Morgan has over 65 tax professionals working in its Houston office. The Partnership group has 16 professionals.


What You Will Do

• Prepare federal and state partnership income tax returns with special emphasis on gathering relevant data to prepare tax return work papers, analyzing tax sensitive general ledger accounts, and calculating and documenting book-tax differences.

• Prepare federal and state extensions and state estimated payments.
• Prepare state apportionment calculations.
• Prepare tax basis balance sheets.
• Prepare 263A Capitalized Interest and Capitalized Overhead calculations.
• Research federal and state tax technical issues.
• Assist with federal and state income tax audits.
• Correspond with tax jurisdictions as necessary.


What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

 

• Previous experience with the ONESOURCE tax preparation software
• Familiarity with Checkpoint research platform
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functionality
• Knowledge of midstream oil and gas operations
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work independently and complete job responsibilities with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills
• Solid analytical skills and decision-making ability
• Highly motivated and able to research problems and recommend solutions
• Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
• Capacity to embrace a team environment, demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic

 

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• Certified Public Accountant or master’s degree are a plus but not required

 

Experience:

• Three to four years of tax experience at a public accounting firm or comparable experience working for a large corporate tax department
