KBR is looking for a Project and Test Engineer The successful candidate will be responsible for project management of small projects, customer interface, requirements management and implementation, hardware discrepancy troubleshooting/resolution, and maintenance activities associated with the processing and testing of Extravehicular Activity (EVA) and/or other project hardware. The employee will collaborate with members of the Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) Engineering team, technicians, and customers to ensure project outcomes meet our customers’ needs and the hardware is ready and available to meet our customer deliverable milestones.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

Project management associated with the development/acquisition and implementation of new hardware and requirements

Implementation of the maintenance and repair requirements associated with the hardware

Performs hardware troubleshooting and resolution of out of spec and failure conditions

Applies knowledge of hardware, assembly, testing, manufacturing, and materials

Customer interface associated with project, test, and hardware support

Provides support for crewmember & test subject training activities to provide real-time resolution of EVA Tools and Suit hardware issues and fit issues

Develops maintenance, assembly, troubleshooting, and testing processes and procedures by studying product requirements: researching, designing, modifying, and testing

Improves process efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow and equipment requirements

Keeps equipment operational by troubleshooting discrepancies and coordinating maintenance and repair

REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must be familiar with testing methodologies, test planning activities, and be able to apply technical knowledge and operations concepts to exercise effective decision making and initiative in a real-time and operational environment. Candidate should be a self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment that requires him/her to work effectively both alone and as part of a team. Candidate is required to pass a physical examination and pass security clearances. Shift work (nights, weekends, and holidays) is required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

BS Degree in engineering (ABET) - Knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to apply them to real-time operations is essential

Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork, technical, and administrative skills are mandatory

Project management experience preferred

This position also requires successful completion of a government background check before commencement of employment

Successful candidates must be able to apply for and successfully receive and maintain security clearance per eligibility requirements.

Experience: 7 years of relevant professional experience.
