NOV Pressure Control Group is currently recruiting for a Top Drive Electrical Assembler to join our team at 12950 West Little York Road. The main responsibilities of this role include: 

JOB SUMMARY 

The Electrical Assembler III is a senior-level technician responsible for assembling complex electrical systems, interpreting advanced schematics, and troubleshooting electrical issues with minimal supervision. This position plays a key role in quality assurance, mentoring junior assemblers, and supporting engineering and continuous improvement efforts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble and wire complex electrical systems, including panels, harnesses, and integrated assemblies.
  • Interpret and work from detailed electrical schematics, blueprints, wire lists, and layout diagrams.
  • Perform precision soldering, cable routing, and installation of connectors, terminals, and components.
  • Conduct thorough functional testing, including continuity, voltage, and resistance checks using multimeters or other testing tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve wiring and component issues at the assembly level.
  • Participate in first-article builds, pilot runs, or prototype assembly projects in collaboration with engineering.
  • Train and mentor Electrical Assemblers I and II, promoting best practices and consistent workmanship.
  • Maintain accurate assembly and quality records; report nonconformances and recommend solutions.
  • Support process improvements and assist with the development or revision of work instructions and assembly documentation.

FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble production tools and equipment per engineering drawings, schematics, and verbal instructions.
  • Set up and test units or subassemblies to required specifications.
  • Communicate with engineers to resolve problems related to production tools.
  • Troubleshoot production tools and repair as necessary
  • Perform assignments in accordance with written procedures, routers, and drawings.
  • Ensure quality documents are completed in compliance with company procedures.
  • Position, align, or adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred.
  • 4-6 years’ electrical assembly experience required.
  • Advanced proficiency with soldering, crimping, and interpreting wiring schematics.
  • Solid understanding of electrical components, circuits, and safe handling practices.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools, multimeters, and ESD protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience assembling control panels, PLC systems, or industrial wiring applications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Fast-paced production floor environment.
  • Standing, bending, and manual dexterity required for the majority of the shift.
  • May involve lifting up to 50 lbs and working with repetitive tasks.
