Job Summary:

The UI/UX Design Intern supports the design and optimization of digital experiences on our website, in interactive tradeshow booth displays, and sales tools. This role assists in creating user-centered designs by contributing to research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design efforts. 

Working closely with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, marketers, graphic designers, and web developers, the intern will help translate business and user needs into intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling solutions. This role offers exposure to the full design process, from concept through execution, while building foundational skills in UI/UX design. Curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn are key.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Support the design of user interfaces for web and digital applications, including layouts, components, and visual elements 

  • Learn and apply accessibility best practices as part of the design process. 
  • Experiment with IT-approved AI-assisted creative and development tools where appropriate. 
  • Explore and pitch design improvements based on usability, visual clarity, brand alignment, content goals, and emerging digital design patterns. 
  • Assist in creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) 
  • Participate in user research activities such as surveys, competitive analysis, and usability testing 
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and marketing team members to ensure cohesive and user-friendly experiences 
  • Help maintain and evolve design systems, including UI components and style guidelines 
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and users to refine designs 
  • Ensure consistency in visual design, interaction patterns, and brand standards across digital touchpoints 
  • Prepare design assets and specifications for development handoff 
  • Support additional design or administrative tasks as needed 
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field 
  • Basic understanding of UI/UX principles, including usability, accessibility, and responsive design 
  • Familiarity with design and prototyping tools (Figma preferred; Adobe Creative Suite is a plus) 
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn, iterate, and receive feedback 
  • Good communication and collaboration skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team environment 
  • Portfolio demonstrating design thinking and creative problem-solving (student work is absolutely welcome) 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
