Job DetailsJob Location: Virtual Retail Center - Houston, TX 77040Virtual Loan Center Representative Department: Virtual Retail Center                 Reports To: Supervisor Virtual Retail Employment Status:  Full Time                    Classification: Non-Exempt   Position Summary   This position is responsible for underwriting and loan processing within the Virtual Loan Center department. Submit loan applications for credit to approve or deny the loans based upon underwriting analysis. Ensure that lending and credit activities in the Virtual Loan Center (VLC) are properly prepared, documented, and approved in compliance with Credit Union policy, lending regulations and loan guidelines.    Duties and Responsibilities   Lending/Underwriter   Review loan applications for credit worthiness and make decisions based on established loan policies, procedures and guidelines.  Accurately perform credit analysis and prepare documentation to support sound credit decisions.  Ensure the financial safety, soundness and security of the credit union and its membership.     Virtual Loan Center Duties   Handle incoming calls and reply to requests from other communication channels, i.e. text messages, emails, outbound phone calls. Review the value of collateral used to obtain a secured loan. Interview members regarding loan applications to ensure completeness & determine cross-sell opportunities. Gather and attach required supporting documents, such as verification of income, to the loan application for closing. Input and ensure accuracy of loan information in the Core System lending platform and transmit the loan application to the Lending Department. Promote and cross-sell other credit union products and services.                   Quality Control   Perform quality control checks on loan applications and documents.   Review lending packets for completeness, accuracy and compliance with state and federal laws; as well as, adhere to rate programs, procedures and credit stipulations. This may include but is not limited to other consumer loans, real estate loans, preapproval offers, and modifications and extensions.   Auto Refinancing   Prepare title work documents and gather additional supporting documents. Review the value of collateral used to obtain a secured loan. Review documentation for completeness and accuracy. Review and confirm title documents in Texdot site.   Additional Duties   Comply with BSA regulations when performing all job requirements, and stay abreast of updates/requirements of BSA/OFAC/CIP through completion of training courses assigned annually by supervisor. Perform all duties in accordance with the credit union’s external and internal service standards. Maintain admin online loan application site and new online open and fund membership site. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsKnowledge   Detailed knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding lending. Thorough knowledge of risk based lending practices. General knowledge of basic lending policies. General knowledge of basic call center policies and etiquette. Knowledge of legislation, rules and regulations which apply to financial institutions including but not limited to Truth in Savings, Truth in Lending, Bank Secrecy Act and anti-discrimination legislation. Knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices   Skills   Excellent interviewing, communication, and public relations skills. Professional appearance and attitude. Strong organization skills. Solid personal computer skills with Windows based software applications. General Sales Skills       Abilities   Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to interpret information to arrive at a solution. Ability to work independently to accomplish goals and meet deadlines. Basic personal computer skills using a Microsoft Windows environment. Sound decision-making and judgment abilities. Ability to perform high level of output. Ability to maintain confidentiality with member information.   Experience   Two to three years of experience in a related field. Lending/underwriting experience is a plus. Call Center experience is a plus. Sales Experience is required   Education High school diploma or its equivalent.
