Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Houston, TX 77051Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $16.00 - $18.00 HourlyJob Shift: 2ndJob Category: Warehouse** Shift Hours: 2 PM to 11 PM ** POSITIION SUMMARY: Conducts day-to-day activities pertaining to the checking and packing product for the shipping department. Checks and Packs material accurately and in an efficient manner, all while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to the Responsibilities of “Order checker/Packer”: Ensures designated equipment is in proper working condition (forklifts, pickers, crane, hand tools, etc.) Effectively communicates with department supervisors Utilizes Sales Order information to accurately verify recorded information provided by the order puller Visually inspects all material to identify any non-conformances Packages material securely, ensuring it is protected from any potential damage during transit. Properly fills out information required on Sales Order and accompanying forms Attend Safety Meetings to identify departmental issues and discuss ways to correct them Identifies areas of improvement while maintaining a clean and safe work environment Duties are not limited to those described above and may be expanded as needed QUALIFICATIONS Speak and read English. Bilingual Spanish a plus 1+ years warehouse experience preferred Ability to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tables High school diploma or GED Basic computer skills. Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred. Must have average reading, writing, and mathematical skills. Ability to drive forklift and secure certification Capable of lifting and stacking objects up to 50 lbs. Requires a high level of attention to detail Able to handle multiple tasks and priorities Able to stand and operate a variety of equipment as assigned Takes initiative and can work independently
