Job Description

Network Engineer – Corporate

Hybrid: 4:1

Location: Houston, TX Office

Tokio Marine HCC, a global power in the specialty insurance industry, is seeking a Network Engineer with a passion for organization, problem solving, mindfulness, and a drive to learn and grow with a world leading company in a unique industry.

Position Summary

Under supervision, designs, builds, implements, monitors, and maintains moderately complex network systems and communications, including, but not limited to routers, switches, load-balancers, firewalls, network optimizers. Evaluates business and technical requirements and recommends network technologies that, when employed, will meet business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, install, and configure current network server systems and repair server hardware.

 • Monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all networked software and associated operating systems

• Use knowledge of network and server operating systems to help design, build and install internal and external networks.

• Perform remedial maintenance of file servers and network devices including the restoration or hardware and software.

• Test and evaluate network systems to ensure stability, eliminate problems and make improvements.

• Perform troubleshooting to correct issues.

• Identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective new or more effective technology solutions • Assist in comparing vendors and costs to plan large scale system projects.

• Collaborate with IT risk management and security to reduce business risk.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field or equivalent education/experience
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification strongly preferred.
  • Working experience with Citrix, VMware, Dell servers, and Microsoft technologies.
