Job DetailsJob Location: Houston, TX 77041The Maintenance Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. This role supports uptime, reduces unplanned downtime, and improves equipment reliability  through both preventive and corrective maintenance. This position requires a hands-on, experienced technician who can independently diagnose issues, execute repairs, and support continuous improvement efforts across the facility. Key Responsibilities • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems including pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, and production equipment • Diagnose root causes of mechanical failures and implement effective, lasting solutions • Support equipment setups, changeovers, and installation of new machinery • Conduct routine inspections and proactively identify reliability risks • Work with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reduce recurring issues • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history • Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives • Respond to production issues and support emergency repairs as needed   Qualifications • 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (flexible packaging or similar preferred) • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently • Experience with rotating equipment, pneumatics, and basic hydraulics • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment • Forklift and scissor lift experience (or willingness to be trained) • Strong communication and teamwork skills • High school diploma or equivalent   Work Environment • Manufacturing floor with exposure to noise, heat, moving machinery, and chemicals • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
