Sanitation Technician

As a Sanitation Technician you will be a key part of our operations, whose duties are to clean and sanitize the production area, equipment and outside the facility. Must be able to work as a team and be flexible and willing to perform varying tasks and in accordance with all safety guidelines. Disassembles, cleans, sanitizes, and reassembles processing equipment. Performs cleaning in accordance with established guidelines and specifications, and ensures equipment is operational for production runs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities.

Cleans and sanitizes the production line and facility as needed throughout the shift and between production processes.

· Keep floors and walls clear of hazards during production.

· Ensure the trash cans are emptied frequently.

· Ensure all safety procedures are understood and followed and that all safety features of the equipment are properly working.

· Keep exterior of facility clean and free debris.

· Follows all applicable GMP's for the area in which he/she is assigned

· Maintains related paperwork

· Adhere to schedules

· Reports to Sanitation Lead (QA Manager) on a daily basis

· Interface with all employees, production, warehouse logistics, and QA/QC

· Maintain a positive work environment for your co-workers

· Be willing to take an active role in team building within our sanitation staff

· Clean all other surfaces in accordance with the clean-up list as assigned

· When taking equipment apart to clean, keep all pieces/parts together and easily accessible for maintenance set-up

· Continually look at opportunities to improve our sanitation procedures opportunities to improve your own work habits

· Ability to fill in on many areas of sanitation when needed

· Requires bending, standing, stretching and use of appropriate PPE

· Can follow a SSOP

· Complete daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation schedules

· Knows proper procedures for cleaning equipment

· Comply with all Company food safety and quality policies and procedures

· Performs other duties as assigned and the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demand

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

· Plant audits and inspections may require lifting of products up to 50 pounds. Inspection often requires work in a production environment including work on a moving line, lifting cartons, and visual inspection. Corrected vision required for sensory analysis to identify color, clarity. Warehouse and plant audits also require close and distance vision to judge GMP’s; peripheral vision and depth perception mandatory for safety

· Lift 10-50 lbs to include moving, lifting, and pushing machinery

· Climb up and down ladders in a daily work schedule
