Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpentry Instructor to deliver high-quality training aligned with NCCER standards. This part-time role is ideal for a journey-level carpenter who is passionate about developing the next generation of tradespeople. The instructor will provide hands-on and classroom instruction, ensuring students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in carpentry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction in NCCER carpentry curriculum, including both classroom and hands-on training
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and practical demonstrations
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive learning environment
- Track student progress and maintain required documentation
- Reinforce industry best practices, safety standards, and worksite expectations
- 5–7 years of journey-level carpentry experience (required)
- NCCER certification or willingness to obtain (preferred)
- Prior teaching or training experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and safety protocols
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of learners
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are highly desirable
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
- Clear communication and instructional skills
- Patience and adaptability in a learning environment
