Work Shift:

Primarily responsible for providing professional emergency treatment in the pre-hospital setting. Primarily treats and transports the sick or injured. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.

Qualifications:

A. Education & Training:
High School graduate or GED equivalent. Completion of a vocational training program as a Paramedic.

B. Experience:
Six (6) months experience.

C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Current Georgia Paramedic certification. Valid Georgia driver’s license. Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. Current AHA ACLS/ARC ALS certification. AHA/ARC PALS certification or within 9 months of hire. CPT training within 9 months of hire. FAST-ED stroke scale or obtained within three (3) months of hire.

D. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Have the physical ability to perform the job as determined by a physical agility performance evaluation. Have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing in English and to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, volunteers and management. Be able to effectively perform prolonged work under adverse emergency conditions involving physical and mental stress. Be able to think clearly and use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations, which may occur. Be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care equipment. Be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, gown, mask, etc.
