Bering’s is looking for an energetic, customer-focused Sales Associate to join our Hardlines department—home to hardware, paint, plumbing, electrical, and the practical products that keep Houston projects moving. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building customer relationships, and turning product knowledge into exceptional service.

What You’ll Do

• Welcome customers, learn about their project needs, and help them find the right products and solutions.
• Share product knowledge and make thoughtful recommendations across hardware, paint, plumbing, and electrical categories.
• Build sales through helpful service, add-on recommendations, and a genuine interest in completing each customer’s project.
• Keep the department clean, organized, stocked, accurately priced, and easy to shop.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, inventory, merchandising, promotional displays, and other department needs.
• Work collaboratively with teammates to maintain a safe, service-oriented store environment.

Requirements

What You Bring

• Previous retail or sales experience is preferred.
• General knowledge of hardware, paint, plumbing, electrical, home improvement, or related trades is preferred.
• A friendly, helpful communication style and a customer-first mindset.
• Comfort learning product details and explaining options clearly to customers.
• Dependability, strong attendance, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as business needs require.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods; regularly bend, reach, kneel, and use ladders or step stools; and lift and carry up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
