Responsibilities

• Create memorial keepsakes (paw prints, fur clippings, and specialty items) with precision, care, and attention to detail, ensuring each item meets quality standards and family expectations

• Record and timestamp each step in a pet’s chain of custody to maintain accurate tracking and documentation

• Assist with receiving pets from families and transport drivers in a professional and respectful manner

• Meet established productivity and workflow standards while maintaining quality of work

• Safely operate equipment and tools used in the handling and processing of pet remains

• Follow all company procedures, safety protocols, and legal requirements, including accurate data entry in the electronic tracking system

• Perform routine equipment inspections and complete required maintenance checklists; promptly report any safety concerns

• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tools, and work areas through daily sanitation practices

• Adhere to company uniform and professional conduct standards at all times


Note: Must be able to lift 60+ pounds and consistently arrive to work as scheduled.


Required Skills & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Artistic skills; attention to detail, fine motor skills to create delicate memorial items, accuracy, and organization

• Comfortable working with deceased pets in an emotionally sensitive environment

• Ability to consistently follow detailed procedures and documentation processes

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 60 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks

• Commitment to safety protocols and company standards

• Can work Monday to Friday 11:00pm to 7:00am (with night differential) or 7:00am to 3:00pm


Preferred Skills

• Experience in a pet-related, funeral, or after-care industry

• Familiarity with cremation, mortuary, or veterinary environments

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is performed primarily in a crematory setting with exposure to moderate heat, noise, and odors

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift

• Must be able to safely lift, carry, and move pets and supplies weighing up to 60 pounds

• Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, gowns, masks, and eye protection as needed

• Regular use of crematory machinery and industrial equipment, following strict safety protocols

• Requires focus, attention to detail, and comfort working in an emotionally sensitive environment involving deceased pets

• May occasionally involve working near delivery drivers or veterinary staff bringing pets into care
