We are looking for a Reservoir Engineer to join our new Optimization and Growth team. This role will focus on developing and maintaining regional views of our Eagle Ford, Permian, and Uinta assets. These regional views will range from data analytics models predicting performance to optimizing completion design. Your work would subsequently feed into acquisition analysis helping us see value beyond what has been done historically. Other outcomes include assisting asset engineers in their efforts to optimize development and encouraging new ideas/approaches in evaluating well performance. Overall, this position will give you the opportunity to influence how the company optimizes development and grows the asset base through acquisitions by advancing our basin wide technical views.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain basin wide data analytics models for use across asset development team
Create workflows for asset team to utilize analytics models
Develop and continually evolve best practices for completion design with operations group
Support and assist in optimizing the acquisition underwriting process
Evaluate and report on competitor results detailing interpreted strategies and how it relates to internal practices
Essential Experience & Skills
Analyze well performance using rate transient analysis (RTA), pressure transient analysis (PTA), and numerical simulation when necessary
Experience in unconventional reservoirs
Ability to work with data at a basin scale
Experience with software to dynamically analyze data on a spatial and trend basis (ex: Spotfire)
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field
Preferred Skills
Experience with Novi (Data, Model, and Forecast Engines)
Knowledge of data analytics methods like Logistic Regression, Time Series Analysis, GLMs, Mixed Modeling, Multivariate Statistics, Predictive Modeling, Decision Trees, Gradient-Boosted Trees, Random Forests, and Neural Networks
Experience with frac and reservoir modeling projects/workflows
Understanding of programming languages such as Python, R, or similar is highly preferred
Experience in Permian, Eagle Ford, and/or Uinta basins
