Duties: Contribute to the design of chemical processing plant equipment and for the manufacturing of chemical and petroleum products. Coordinate specialized process engineering (chemical) activities and provide technical knowledge and expertise. Coordinate and provide technical oversight for the specialized process engineering activities related to design within proposals, studies, projects execution and operations. Troubleshoot problems with chemical manufacturing processes. Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to optimize performance and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Schedule and perform budget management of technical deliverables. Review and approve deliverables on the project, subcontract scope writing, and vendor management. Perform vendor document review of submitted technical levels, client management and interface, and project management. Lead sub-teams on executing projects and mentor engineers. Optimize engineering analysis and solutions produced by process engineering teams. Liaise with other process disciplines, engineering departments and design teams at projects and/or operations management level, clients and licensors. Travel to various unanticipated locations throughout U.S. and internationally required.

Employer will accept a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or petroleum engineering, and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a process engineer-related occupation.

The position requires experience in the following:

  1. Application of chemical engineering, unit process design, process heat and material balances, hydraulics, equipment design, process controls, and process safety systems.
  2. Review and approval of technical contract articles relevant to guarantees, liabilities and test run procedures.
  3. Design of bio-sourced chemical plants, production of mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) and propylene glycol (PG) from wood feedstock.
  4. Design and revamp of Adiponitrile Production Plants and Methionine Production Plants.
  5. Project experience in chlorine related projects and studies, including extension of Membrane Electrolysis Plants.
  6. Process engineering support to diverse engineering projects, including projects in Europe, Asia, and North America.
  7. Mentorship and oversight of Process Engineers.
