Component Inspector

Smith is currently seeking opportunities for detail-oriented, motivated, efficient and talented personnel to join our Global Operations team.

Job Purpose:

To support Operations by performing electronic component inspections and shipping and receiving duties

Principle Accountabilities:

• Verify  information visually, using various microscopic equipment and the naked eye, to insure the component matches manufacturer specifications
• To receive and ship orders in a timely fashion 
• Unload all inbound shipments from various carriers
• Open boxes, separate product and place in bins along with the waybill and pack list
• Utilize our proprietary system to complete, in detail, the component inspection and receiving process
• Examine components for physical defects
• Verify Purchase Order/Sales Order requirements are met
• Communicate with appropriate individuals when discrepancies arise
• Complete internal /external labels per customer requirements
• Document product and shipping condition through pictures
• Package material in appropriate containers with sufficient padding and protection
• Place required paperwork in/on shipments

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year component or product inspection experience a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel a plus
• Written and oral communication skills a must
• Multi-tasking and organization skills required
• Minimum 1 year warehouse experience a plus
• Knowledge of the electronics distribution field is helpful
