Your Opportunity

Join a Top 10 global design firm as a Principal in our Texas buildings practice.  Our Houston office is seeking a Principal in Charge to be a contributing member of our Principal leadership team. The successful candidate will be a recognized leader in the education market with a proven focus on design excellence, project delivery, and the highest levels of client satisfaction. The position requires the ability to develop and nurture existing Stantec client relationships as well as acquire new client relationships. This role is primarily responsible for business development and project delivery, and will have project responsibilities including client management, project leadership, and technical guidance 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead collaboratively, the growth and development of the Education sector for Stantec. 
  • Assist in strengthening the design brand of Stantec to achieve its goals of becoming a leading design firm.
  • Secure Exceptional clients for Stantec and deliver high quality, profitable projects for the firm that enhance Stantec’s Design and Brand Recognition in Buildings. 
  • Manage the Planning and Design process with clients on projects related to the Education sector that come to Stantec through you and support the growth and development of other Stantec Architecture and interior design resources. 
  • Program, develop methodologies and design approaches for the product type through the project design and documentation phases. 
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams including consultants and collaborate with existing Stantec Engineering leadership to grow Stantec reach, client pool, and design brand. 
  • Work on a variety of Education projects from design through construction administration and mentor others who are emerging leaders in that practice. 
  • Collaborate with team members within the project team and leverage Stantec skills in Education strategically. 
  • Lead in identifying project opportunities, marketing Stantec services and winning work. 
  • Perform limited administrative and office management tasks. 
  • Be active members within the communities that Stantec serves.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
