Job DetailsJob Location: Houston, TX 77017Position Type: Full-Time/Part-TimePosition Summary: The Scaffold Leadman / Crew Leader is a highly skilled and experienced scaffolder responsible for leading a crew in the safe erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding systems. This role requires a strong understanding of scaffold specifications, including load capacities and the 4-to-1 height-to-base ratio, as well as a commitment to safety, compliance, and productivity. The Leadman serves as the primary point of contact for the crew, ensuring that all work meets company and client standards. Key Responsibilities: Supervise scaffold crews in the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding per customer requests and safety requirements. Ensure all work is performed safely and in full compliance with company and client safety policies. Conduct daily inspections of scaffolding and materials to verify integrity, stability, and compliance before use in the field. Complete all required documentation prior to starting work, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and other safety forms. Ensure all scaffold materials are used properly and maintained in good condition. Monitor crew performance to maintain quality, productivity, and adherence to project schedules. Provide on-the-job guidance and mentoring to crew members to promote safe and efficient work practices. Communicate effectively with site supervisors, safety personnel, and other trades as needed. QualificationsQualifications: Minimum of 5 years of scaffolding experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. In-depth knowledge of scaffold systems, materials, and safety requirements (e.g., 4-to-1 ratio, tie-ins, and load ratings). Proven ability to lead and coordinate a scaffold crew safely and efficiently. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret scaffold design drawings and specifications. Physically able to perform all essential duties, including working at heights. Preferred: Valid TWIC card and OSHA or safety council certifications. Experience in industrial or petrochemical environments. Must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing (certain client sites require this)
