About The Position

Be a part of a new initiative as our facility transitions its Hematology/Oncology service line in-house! This exciting opportunity offers the chance to shape the future of care and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Practice Setting

• Mix of inpatient and outpatient care at a Texas-based healthcare facility
• APPs and fellows work closely with faculty
• Assigned RN and MA for support 
  • EPIC System with AI Scribe (DAX Copilot & Ambient AI): Facility uses AI to auto-generate notes and charges from patient encounters, requiring only physician co-signature-saving valuable charting time

Schedule Details

• Monday through Sunday, open to 7 on/7 off
  • Scheduled hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Very light night back-up call
• 7 faculty members rotate every 2 weeks for coverage, alternating between inpatient and outpatient services

Cases and Procedures

• Case types are 60% hematology, 40% oncology (more consultative service)
• Acute leukemia cases are transferred out
• Involved in teaching and mentoring fellows
  • No bone marrow transplants, but biopsies are required

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Hematology/Oncology
• Texas medical license or interstate medical license
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
